Team of heavyweights join Sykes at Toumaz
A SLEW of heavyweight directors are expected to join former GlaxoSmithKline chairman Sir Richard Sykes on the board of technology investment firm Toumaz Holdings this week.
They include Winston Wang, the founder of Grace Semiconductor, and Dr Ian McWalther, a former chief executive of Toumaz.
Sykes was appointed executive chairman on Friday, when the company also announced it had raised £2.9 million through a placing with existing shareholders. Specialist chip group Imagination Technologies also took a 8.6 per cent stake and is expected to gain a seat on the board.
Sykes is a former rector of Imperial College, London, where he oversaw the float of technology spin-out firm Imperial Innovations.
