With season 5 of the much-talked about show being almost upon us, MyVoucherCodes have now taken a look through some of the stats so far.

Although fans are well aware that the HBO drama is hardly for the faint-hearted, they may be surprised to hear just how many people have been killed since the first episode was shown in 2011.

Since Ser Waymar Royce was slain by White Walkers in the opening minutes of the first episode, there have been a whopping 133 kills in the four seasons.

Season 4 has actually been the deadliest yet, with 37 or 39 deaths.

This depends on whether you believe the Clegane brothers have met their makers or will be found to have dodged death's grip in the upcoming episodes.

It seems like things are just going to get even more exciting in the HBO drama, as well, with Maisie Williams, speaking to Radio Times this week about the latest series.

The 17-year-old explained: "When I say there's a massive change in Game of Thrones, I think it's the first time I've actually meant it.

"People are going to think, 'You go through a change every year.' But this year it's on a completely different level - it's so exciting. It sounds so broad, but actually 'change' is really, really specific."

Game Of Thrones season 5 premieres on April 12 on HBO.
