Jermain Jackman plans on being the UK's first black PM

"She said the baby was mine!"

Jermain Jackman is laughing now, but the 20-year-old had a hell of a scare at the time.

It turns out that the young lady in question was a friend of the family and was using a pretty extreme line to get backstage to see him at a festival.

A story of a young popstars's love child is rarely a unbelievable shock, but Jackman has always seemd so resolutely wholesome.

Indeed, when I met up with him to chat about his self-titled debut album and new single How Will I Know, he was charming, funny and articulate.

No surprise from a man who is already heavily involved in youth politics, is being courted by David Cameron and Ed Milliband - and openly plans on being the UK's first black Prime Minister.

You can watch the main interview right here at the weekend, but I thought I'd warm him up first with a quick-fire round of set questions.

I confess i had no idea who his secret crush was.

Raven-Symoné is a US TV and film star, but the amazing bit is that she was the little kid on the Cosby Show.

She played the precocious Olivia Kendall from the age of four.

Jermain was on fine form as he revealed that he used to be able to walk on his toes.

I instantly thought he had a hidden past as a ballerina, but it seems he was a tap-dance whizz in his youth.

I confess to being a litte disappointed.

He also wants to go up into space but is scared of the G-force and is far too much of a manly man to cry at soppy movies.

Ladies and gentlemen meet Jermain Jackman – international tap-dancing, sky-diving mystery man of many contradictions.

Frankly, the sooner he's Prime Minister, the better.

Jermain Jackman's debut single How Will I Know and self-titled album are out on March 23
