CD Review: Beth Orton, Sugaring Season
BETH Orton’s first record in six years is dreamy and introspective, soaked in a languid wash of jazz-influenced folk.
Inspired by the birth of her daughter, maternal exhaustion took Orton’s mind into uncharted territory of spaced-out clarity and the result is a record of great maturity, wistful tenderness and soul.
Verdict: 4/5
