Album review - William Fitzsimmons: The Sparrow And The Crow
FORMER psychotherapist William Fitzsimmons follows Goodnight, a set that centred around his divorce, with another collection of wounded tunes expressing the fall-out of the split and numerous other emotional difficulties.
His downbeat folkish pluckings will put you in mind of Bon Iver and the late Elliot Smith, though he lacks their inventiveness.
In fact, after a while his wallowing-in-it whisper might just get on your nerves.
VERDICT 2/5
