Hellboy 3 update: Guillermo del Toro has WORST news for fans wanting sequel
HELLBOY 3 will never be a reality, Guillermo del Toro has confirmed - insisting that the threequel is dead and buried.
Hellboy III was thought to be revived but now it will not happen
Fans have long been hoping for a follow-up to 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army, especially after the initially-planned Dark Worlds was canned in 2010.
Del Toro was due to hold a meeting with creator Mike Mignola and series star Ron Perlman, but it seems the talks did not prove fruitful.
He tweeted: “Hellboy 3 Sorry to report: Spoke w all parties. Must report that 100% the sequel will not happen.
“And that is to be the final thing about it.”
Hellboy still has a devoted following
Its first film is now 13-years-old

Followers were devastated, with one replying: “WHY?? You gotta give us more info than that!”
“you get a Kickstarter going and I’m sure it can happen. PLEASE,” another pleaded.
Released in 2004, the first Hellboy film was favourably received by critics and took just shy of $100 million at the box office.
The sequel took a much healthier $160.4 million, and more enthusiastic reviews.

Last month Del Toro had tweeted his enthusiasm over the project, saying: “The HELLBOY III is our chance to vote the right way in 2017! If 100k votes come in 24 hours I promise to have a sit down w Da Perl & Mignola.”
He later added: “We have gone past the 100K votes. I will arrange the sitdown w Ron & Mignola to talk HBIII. No gurantee [sic] but we will discuss. Wish us luck!!”
The 52-year-old’s upcoming projects now include The Shape Of Water, which features Sally Hawkins and is slated for release this year.
