Star Wars: Mark Hamill clarifies Luke Skywalker’s future after Episode VIII
MARK HAMILL has shed light on his Star Wars Episode VIII statement about Luke Skywalker’s future.
Is this the end of the road for Luke?
The Star Wars actor caused worry on Sunday after suggesting he wouldn’t be appearing in Star Wars Episode XI.
He said: I finish Episode VIII, and then I’m out of work.”
Fans took this to mean he would be killed off in the currently untitled sequel to The Force Awakens.
However Hamill has since taken to his Twitter account to clarify exactly what he meant…
Did Mark Hamill reveal a huge Luke Skywalker spoiler?
I meant "out of work" because #Ep8 is wrapping soon, OK? #DontOverThinkEVERYTHING #ParsingHamill #WaitForVIII https://t.co/5CIJ5Gqo99

But can fans rest assured that Hamill isn't just covering up for a slip of tongue?
Hamill has been busy filming the second, and currently untitled, film in the new trilogy.
Skywalker is believed to play a pivotal role in the follow up, with a key battle between Rey, Luke and Kylo Ren having been leaked.
But to what extent? Perhaps he will be killed off like Harrison Ford’s Han Solo?
Or will become a ghostly hologram like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Yoda at the end of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
A huge battle has been filmed - is someone getting killed off?

Before The Force Awakens was released, he was bound to secrecy to the extent that he wouldn’t receive a sum of money if he revealed anything.
Who knows, if Skywalker isn’t killed off perhaps he’ll just leave for a galaxy far, far away?
Star Wars: Episode VIII is released in UK cinemas on December 15, 2017.
