To celebrate Mother's Day, some of the biggest stars in Hollywood tell us why their mums are so special.

The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1 cast have recorded special clips of funny, sweet and inspiring things about their mothers.

Hunger Games and Game of Thrones beauty Natalie Dormer plays the tough and tricky Cressida in the final two films of the series and reveals that her mum gave her the strength to face the world.

She remembers the best advice her mum ever gave her.

"If someone is criticising you, it's a reflection of them, not you."

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson play tortured lovers Katniss and Peeta in the films, but their off-screen banter always shines through.

Hutcherson sweetly says his mum told him,

"Treat people the way you want to be treated."

Lawrence can't resist laughing as she cuts in with, "How original."

But he soon throws her own comments back at her when she remembers that she was told to always be herself by her own mum.

"I'd come home and be like, 'Everyone is calling me weird,' and she's like, 'Well, you are weird, but be yourself.'"

Brit hunk Sam Clafflin, who plays Finnick Odair, touchingly reveals his hero worship for his own mum.

"She makes me proud," He says.

"She's a real trooper. She's my hero!"

Meanwhile Donald Sutherland is the opposite of his icy President snow in the films to movingly sings the praises of two mothers - his own and the mother of his children.

Leave it to Stanley Tucci to get a bit silly when he dramatically reveals the most powerful, life-changing maternal advice he received was to.... always clean his kitchen.

Words to live by.
