Poor Daniel Radcliffe was having a really bad hair day

Inspired by his latest look we reimagined him as iconic characters from Star Wars, Batman and Something About Mary.

In the film Horns, he plays a man accused of his girlfriend’s murder, who awakes one day to find he’s sprouted devil horns – giving him extraordinary powers over the local townspeople.

But what if Daniel was to wake up one day with something else entirely on his head?

It might be a different story altogether.

Here’s what he might be like with some of film and television’s most iconic headgear – and the special powers each would give him...

LeiaPH

The Princess’ Buns

As Seen In: Star Wars

Made Famous By: Carrie Fisher

Why It’s Iconic: Princess Leia’s currant bun-over-the-ears look is the most famous hair-do in science fiction history.

Rumour has it that Darth Vader has the same style under his helmet.

Special Powers: Never mind powers, Daniel will just be grateful it doesn’t come with Leia’s trademark gold bikini.

Horns - Main Trailer - starring Daniel Radcliffe

The Hairy Wairy (main image)

As Seen In: Films, comedy shows and anything remotely annoying.

Made Famous By: Russell Brand

Why It’s Iconic: The hair-do that made Brand a star in Britain and made him a hit with scores of ladies.

For some bizarre reason.

Special Powers: The ability to talk about both dinkles and revolution with equal levels of expertise, and irritate people either way.

Thankfully the spray-on jeans, bangles and affected Artful Dodger persona are all optional.

Horns PH

Horns-Batman

The Bat-Horns

As Seen In: Batman

Made Famous By: Adam West

Why It’s Iconic: There might be a new load of superheroes on the block these days, but few crimefighters boast the kind of underworld street-cred Batman has in his mask – especially the version from the 1960s kids’ telly favourite.

Special Powers: The ability to smooth-talk ladies and punch villians on the nose with a comical “Ka-Pow”.

MaryPH

The Mary

As Seen In: There’s Something About Mary

Made Famous By: Cameron Diaz

Why It’s Iconic: It was the moment we realized Ms Diaz was not only beautiful, but was also game for a laugh and had plenty of 'spunk'.

Special Powers: To make everyone wonder where they can get this amazing new mystery hair-care product.

Horns KlingonPH

The Klingon Frown

As Seen In: Star Trek

Made Famous By: Klingons

Why It’s Iconic: The old Cornish pasty of the forehead is difficult to pull off, but Star Trek’s famous warrior race has made it their own.

Special Powers: Though it would give its wearer the sense of commanding authority most Klingons seem to have, it may also give the impression you’re on your way to a science fiction convention.

At least it’s better than going completely baldly, sorry, boldly forth.

LokiPH

The Loki

As Seen In: Avengers Assemble

Made Famous By: Tom Hiddleston

Why It’s Iconic: Not only is Hiddleston’s Loki a supervillain for the 21st Century – almost bringing an end to Marvel’s super-powered Avengers team – but his famous headgear also an extra-long twist on the classic devil horns look.

Special Powers: The usual supervillain stuff - flying, laughing maniacally, and delivering cutting one-liners.

Plus, it’s proof that bigger is indeed better.

Assuming it’s not compensating for anything else...

WonkaPH

The Wonka

As Seen In: Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

Made Famous By: Gene Wilder

Why It’s Iconic: The recognizable headgear of the man who made a generation of kids dream about how amazing it would be to have their very own chocolate factory.

Special Powers: To also give those same kids nightmares for life, because it turns out Wonka likes chucking kids down rubbish chutes or turning them into blueberries.

More terrifying than anything Dan would have seen at Hogwarts.

Horns DalekPH

The Exterminating Eye-Stalk

As Seen In: Doctor Who

Made Famous By: The Daleks

Why It’s Iconic: The most menacing 18 inches of metal in television history.

It’s been forcing kids to hide behind the sofa for 50 years.

Special Powers: It would be like waking up with a third eye – albeit one you can shoot lazers out of and exterminate anyone within spitting distance.

Horns LabyrinthPH

The Goblin King’s Crown

As Seen In: Labyrinth

Made Famous By: David Bowie

Why It’s Iconic: The most voluminous of all Bowie’s wacky hair-dos (and there have been some corkers), which he wore for his role as the Goblin King in this kids’ fantasy film.

Only slightly more iconic than the skin-tight posing pouch Bowie also sported in the movie.

Special Powers: Daniel’s no stranger to magic, but the power of song and dance will see him well for his next audition.

HORNS is available now on Digital HD and on DVD & Blu-ray
