PREDESTINATION is a Russian doll of a film revealing hidden layers of a fiendishly complex plot and constantly threatening to trip over its own ingenuity.

Predestination combines Sci-Fi, film noir and elements of Greek tragedy

Starring: Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook, Noah Taylor

It requires complete attention but the reward is a compelling, low-tech, existential sci-fi yarn with real heart and soul.

The film is based on a short story by Robert Heinlein that was published in the late 1950s and yet it carries echoes of Men In Black, The Matrix and even old TV favourite Quantum Leap.

Ethan Hawke stars as a time-travelling secret agent working for an organisation intent on stamping out terrorist crimes before they happen.

Sounds simple but can you really shape the world or change your own destiny?

Predestination combines science-fiction paranoia, a film noir-style thriller and elements of Greek tragedy into something that feels fresh and very appealing.
