The Reluctant Fundamentalist: Review and trailer
THE Reluctant Fundamentalist is an intelligent, thoughtful adaptation of a novel by Mohsin Hamid about the change undergone after 9/11 by a young Pakistani, Changez Khan (Riz Ahmed), working on Wall Street.
Disillusioned with his adopted country he gives up his lucrative job for a career in academia back home. But is he also a terrorist?
This is the question an American journalist (Liev Schieber) is trying to answer as he interviews Changez in Lahore following the kidnapping of a US citizen.
Is Changez involved? The picture is long-winded and rather predictable but Ahmed is terrific and it’s beautifully made by director Mira Nair.
