SHAUN The Sheep is set to star in his own big screen movie in 2015, it has been announced today.

Aardman Studios are working with StudioCanal on the film which sees Shaun and his friends head to the city to rescue their farmer who goes missing.

The movie will be called Shaun The Sheep, and will use stop-motion animation like the beloved television series Wallace and Gromit.

David Sproxton, executive chairman of Aardman, said: "Shaun and his friends have a massive global following and we are very excited about being able to put them into a bigger adventure for the big screen."

Shaun The Sheep first appeared in the Oscar winning short film Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave.

The adorable furry animal has his own television series on on CBBC which has been seen in more than 170 countries.

The show features the voices of children's TV star Justin Fletcher and has a theme tune sung by comedian Vic Reeves.
