Underground: review and trailer
TIMED to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the London Underground is a re-release of classic British silent movie, Underground (1928) a sophisticated romantic drama in which love blossoms – with many complications – far below the surface.
Impeccably restored and enhanced by Neil Brand’s score performed live at the Barbican in 2011 by the BBC Symphony Orchestra it’s a remarkably modern and energizing experience - directed by Anthony Asquith - climaxing with a rooftop chase across Lots Road Power Station that would pass muster in a Bond movie.
