Silent House film review
SILENT House is the hasty US remake of last year’s “one take” Uruguayan horror, La Casa Muda, in which a young woman (played here by the talented Elizabeth Olsen) is assailed by an unseen tormentor while clearing our a remote beach house with her father (Adam Trese) who vanishes.
It’s well acted but repetitive and not scary enough. Filming the whole thing in one take robs the filmmakers of the necessary tricks required to conjure up any kind of sustained tension.
