Honey film review and trailer
HONEY is the concluding film in a trilogy that began with Egg and Milk. It is a snail's pace drama with a minimal amount of dialogue and no music.
Six year-old Yusuf (Bora Altas) lives in a remote village in the mountains of Anatolia. He struggles at school, humiliated by others because of his stutter.
At home he is able to converse easily with his beloved father Yakup (Erdal Besikcioglu) who provides for the family by gathering wild honey high in the trees from a nearby forest.
When his father fails to return from one such mission it is a defining moment in the family's precarious existence.
Beautiful images and a poetic sense of yearning are the virtues of this delicate tale.
