James Bond 25: Daniel Craig’s 007 reunites with TWO familiar faces in latest set PHOTOS
JAMES BOND 25 continued filming in London today - with Daniel Craig joined by not one but two familiar faces.
BOND 25: EXCLUSIVE first look at Jamaica set of new film
The as-yet-untitled movie sees Craig return to the role of 007 for what is thought to be the final time.
Today, two MI6 favourites were spotted on set with Craig, filming scenes for the caper.
The star was spotted with Ralph Fiennes - returning as M - and Rory Kinnear, who is back as Bill Tanner.
This is Kinnear’s fourth Bond movie, after his appearances in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. It’s Fiennes’ third.
All three were suited-up for the exterior scenes, with director Cary Fukunaga also seen conversing with his stars.
Craig’s recent ankle injury was known to have disrupted schedules slightly, but he looked to be on fine form as he continued to make progress on the blockbuster.
There was no sign here of Christoph Waltz, who has been alleged to be reprising his role as Blofeld - albeit very briefly.
Baz Bamigboye tweeted: “Exclusive: Hello Mr Waltz... we’ve been expecting you.
“#ChristophWaltz is back as #Blofeld in @007 #Bond25, shooting scenes at Pinewood Studios.
“When a visitor spotted him, Waltz insisted, “You haven’t seen me.””
Plans must have changed: he said back in 2017 that he would not be returning.
“No, I’m sorry. I’m really sad, but that’s the tradition, that there is a new (actor)… Sorry. I would’ve liked to,” he told Talky Movie in Italy at the time.
Waltz’s appearance is thought to be brief: he was seen being arrested at the end of 2015’s Spectre.
The main villain this time round is portrayed by Rami Malek, the Oscar-winning star of Bohemian Rhapsody.
And he recently spoke out on his conditions for accepting a villain in a movie like this.
“It’s a great character and I’m very excited,” he told the Mirror.
“But that was one thing I discussed with [director Cary Fukunaga]. I said, ‘We cannot identify him with any act of terrorism reflecting an ideology or a religion.
“‘That’s not something I would entertain, so if that is why I am your choice then you can count me out.’
“That was clearly not his vision. So he’s a very different kind of terrorist.
“It’s another extremely clever script from the people who have figured out exactly what people want in those movies.
“But I feel a substantial weight on my shoulders. I mean, Bond is something that we all grow up with.”
Fleabag mastermind Phoebe Waller-Bridge was drafted in to touch up the much-discussed and much-rewritten screenplay, which still hadn’t been completed when production began.
Richard Madden is the current bookies’ favourite to take over from Craig in subsequent James Bond films.
Bond 25 is out on April 8, 2020.
