It was the biggest winner at the Oscars this years, taking home four Academy Awards – including Best Actor for Rami Malek. Now Bohemian Rhapsody has broken The Greatest Showman’s home release record. According to the Official Film Chart, the Freddie Mercury biopic sold an impressive 465,000 discs in its first week of physical release. This is the biggest disc debut since The Greatest Showman managed an impressive 497,000 in the same time frame.
Nevertheless, Bohemian Rhapsody is the champion overall, having made 388,600 digital sales in its first four weeks.
So in total, the Queen movie has sold 853,000 copies across all physical and digital platforms in its first month.
This tops The Greatest Showman, which sold a total of 845,500 in the same four week time frame.
Last month, Bohemian Rhapsody sold almost 265,000 digital home copies in its first eight days.
This new record beat Avengers Infinity War’s previous record of 253,000 digital downloads in the same time frame.
Following its huge success, there’s now talk of a Bohemian Rhapsody sequel.

He told Page Six: “I’m sure [Jim Beach] plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.
“[It’s] being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”
