The actors never met on screen in Game of Thrones and death keeps them apart once more in their new project.

The latest crime thriller from T. R. Richmond follows the story of the murdered Alice Salmond with Clarke and Dance taking the leads in the all-star audiobook version.

As well as being a traditional literary whodunit, the new novel explores the impact and dangers of our ever-increasing online lives.

We all reveal so much of ourselves through social media – but how much is the pure truth and how much embellishment and misdirection, conscious or otherwise?

Tracking back through Alice’s life, it uses her facebook posts, texts, tweets, diary entries, letters and exchanges with friends to piece together a picture of what happened.

Emilia Clarke leaves the dragons and drama of Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO show to play the murdered main character in the all-star audio book.

Charles Dance, aka the menacing Tywin Lannister, voices the character of Dr Jeremy Cooke who is determined to discover the truth behind her death.

Further support comes from Sense and Sensibility’s Imogen Stubbs and Him and Her’s Kerry Howard.

What She Left by T. R. Richmond (Michael Joseph, hardback and audio book both £12.99) is out on April 23
