Has Kate blown her Oscar chances?
FILM critic Barry Norman fears Kate Winslet may have blown her chances of Oscar glory by failing to be political enough in her speech at the recent Golden Globes.
"Kate's a wonderful actress and a great girl but forgetting Hollywood golden girl Angelina Jolie's name when acknowledging her fellow nominees Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Kristin Scott-Thomas at the Globes may have rubbed Academy voters up the wrong way, " he said.
Norman also indicated that the Academy members prefer one of their own to win and that "foreigner" Kate, 33, may face
Oscar misery once again.
She was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Marianne Dashwood in Sense And Sensibility (1995) and Iris (2001) and for Best Actress for Titanic (1997) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004) and Little Children (2006).
