Naomi Watts children know it's all make believe
Naomi Watts reveals she has found a decidedly gory way of helping her young children understand her film roles are just pretend.
Bizarrely the King Kong star says she’s taken to putting fake blood on her two sons Alexander, three, and Samuel, 22 months, in order to help them understand that she isn’t really hurt when they see her injured on screen.
“The movie I’m filming now is about the 2004 tsunami,” says Naomi, 42, married to fellow actor Liev Schreiber, 43. “There’s a lot of discussion with the boys that mummy’s going to have ‘owies’ and they’re just pretend. But you don’t want them to be traumatised. Samuel was saying ‘Where are your owies?’ So we put fake blood on them.
“It worries me a little bit – it’s not normal by any stretch of the imagination – but that’s our job, and you have to try to make them understand it.”
