Prescott’s gone soft on Cotton
AN unlikely pairing but TV’s Fearne Cotton and MP John Prescott have struck up a friendship.
The two met this week when put in neighbouring dressing rooms at the BBC. John, 71, and wife Pauline were talking on BBC Breakfast about their North/South Divide documentary.
The Hull East MP and Fearne, 27, hit it off and have been in contact through social networking site Twitter.
John wondered online if Fearne was related to Fifties and Sixties bandleader and TV personalityBilly Cotton.
Fearne tweeted she was, to which Prescott gushed: “Pauline and I loved Billy. We thought there was a bit of ‘wakey wakey’ [Billy’s catchphrase] about you, ha!”
Good to know John’s mind was on his interview.
