Council calls chime on the ice cream van jingle

Published: Tuesday July 22,2008 by Ivan1

This law should have been brought out countrywide years ago. The noise is horrendous and can be heard above TV in a double glazed house, even with windows closed.

I am appreciative of the fact that we don't have to walk too far to shops and have melted ice cream by the time we get home but, when chimes can be heard the length of a long street and further, it is a nuisance. At weekends and during school holidays it can be about every hour or less. I feel sorry for mothers who have young babies wakening up because of the noise.
