Compassion is a must to be a nurse
ACADEMIC Dr Anna Smajdor has claimed that nurses do not need to show compassion for their patients, not least because they might become demoralised if they witness neglect or poor treatment on the wards.
Is she mad? Neglect and poor treatment are direct results of indifference on the part of the caring profession.
Anyone lacking in compassion should never even contemplate becoming a nurse.
