Labour’s secret Euro rebel
WHAT happened to Labour frontbencher Ian Austin in the Commons Europe vote?
Welfare spokesman Austin, known to hold Eurosceptic views, abstained in contravention of Ed Miliband’s three-line whip.
He says he was away on constituency business in Dudley and had cleared his absence with party high-ups.
But when challenged to say what this unmissable business was he declines to elaborate.
In his shed throwing darts at a poster of Herman Van Rompuy is my best guess.
