Police without judgment
THERE can be no excuse for police Tasering an Alzheimer’s sufferer in his own living room when he turned aggressive.
His wife suggested he be given some sweets and his favourite Noddy toy but police preferred to react as though they were dealing with Osama Bin Laden.
Incredibly the action has been defended with the claim that the police faced “a significant level of violence” as if their victim Peter Russell had been wielding a machete or pointing a gun, instead of swearing and slamming doors.
Brave chaps, aren’t they?
