Cate is nominated for a Leading Actress award for her role in Carol.
She plays Carol Aird in the romantic drama, which follows the relationship between herself as she goes through a difficult divorce and meets a young photographer, Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara).
The movie is nominated for seven awards including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography and Costume Design.
