Rita Ora turned heads when she appeared on The One Show on Monday
However following the broadcast, the programme has posted an apology on Facebook, despite the channel admitting in a statement that they "didn't feel" her choice was inappropriate.
The BBC told the The Independent that the show “allows guests to choose their own attire and pop stars often opt for something glamorous or striking”.
Adding: “We didn’t feel that Rita’s outfit would be outside of most viewers’ expectations of that of a major pop star, but we appreciate that tastes vary.”
The 24-year-old was being interviewed with Will.i.am and Ricky Wilson ahead of the launch of The Voice, in which they appears as judges alongside Tom Jones.

But despite the BBC comments, a message was placed on The One Show's Facebook page, which read: "We’re sorry to those of you who were offended by Rita Ora’s choice of outfit on yesterday’s show.
"If we had been consulted on it we would have requested she wore something more suitable for 7pm."
Viewers took to the social networking site to voice their opinions on the rather risqué look, which the hitmaker teamed with slicked back tresses and her trademark red lipstick.
One person tweeted: "Should Rita not be wearing a shirt? Or at least a bra?"
