Jason Donovan to tackle The King's Speech
Australian actor/singer JASON DONOVAN is to take on the role made famous by GEOFFREY RUSH in a stage adaptation of THE KING'S SPEECH.
The former star of Aussie soap opera Neighbours is to tackle the role of speech therapist Lionel Logue opposite Mr Selfridge actor Raymond Coulthard as King George VI, who was played by Colin Firth in the Oscar-winning 2010 film.
Donovan, who has previously enjoyed stage roles in musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, says of his new part, "He (Logue) was such an interesting and remarkable Australian, who achieved so much in a very challenging situation and I think he will be fascinating to play."
The play, which ran in London's West End in 2012, will tour the nation from February (15).
