Hilarious moment Eamonn Holmes receives PPI phonecall live on This Morning
EAMONN Holmes has proved that it isn't only the general public who get bombarded with phone calls from PPI companies, after his phone rang live on air this morning.
The TV presenter caused a Twitter frenzy after he answered his mobile phone while he was presenting This Morning, only to discover it was from a firm offering him help with his payment protection insurance.
The Belfast-born star sparked a debate on the social networking site, with some applauding him for his banter and others criticising his professionalism.
One tickled user tweeted the 53-year-old: "Hilarious your ppi call - you get them too - thank goodness."
While another wrote: "Loling @eamonnholmes on @itvthismorning at his pip call. What a guy we need Eamonn on every day, such a funny fella."
However, not everyone was as impressed with him answering his mobile phone during his show.
"So unprofessional of Eamonn Holmes having his phone go off live on air doing This Morning. #shocking," wrote one.
While another added: "EamonnHolmes is so rude! I actually can't watch him. What a vile man."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that ITV are trying to poach the star from Sky News so that he can become the new host of Daybreak.
According to reports, the broadcaster are prepared to pay almost £4million to secure the presenter - £2.4million to buy him out of his three-year Sunrise contract and @1.5million for two years' salary.
