Olivia Colman is lost for words not once but twice as she picks up two BAFTAs
OLIVIA Colman struggled to get her words out not once but twice, stumbling her way through two acceptance speeches at this evening's British Academy Television Awards.
The Accused actress reigned supreme in the two categories she was nominated picking up the award for Best Supporting Actress in her role in Accused, and Best Female Performance in comedy Twenty Twelve, beating off competition from co-star Jessica Hynes.
The 39-year-old couldn't believe her ears as her name was read out as the winner of the Best Supporting Actress accolade.
Taking centre-stage to accept the gong Olivia was lost for words. She took a few moments to catch her breath before attempting to vocalise her thanks.
"Hello," she said. "Turns out it does mean a lot. And I'm not going to cry," she promised.
It was a promise she managed to keep but the small screen star couldn't help stuttering through her moment under the spotlight.
She was in a state of disbelief when her name was announced for the second time for her part in satire series Twenty Twelve.
"I really didn't expect it, thank you so much," she blushed between gasps.
She then went on to praise her fellow nominees Miranda Hart, Jessica Hynes and Julia Davis, joking: "I'm not even the funniest one in our own programme."
