Jackson's belongings fetch big money at auction
A collection of MICHAEL JACKSON's personal belongings have fetched almost £625,000 at auction.
A variety of items from the Beat It hitmaker's home went under the hammer at Julien's Auctions on Saturday (17Dec11) and one of the evening's most sought-after pieces - an armoire with a hand-written message by Jackson - sold for £16,094.
A kitchen chalkboard where the star's children wrote "I love daddy" fetched £3,125 and a rug that laid beneath Jackson's death bed sold for £9,600, far above the auction house officials' estimated £250 to £375.
Julien's Auctions has previously worked with the Jackson estate on a number of other occasions - earlier this year (11) the group sold the entertainer's famous Thriller jacket for £1.1 million.
