Pettyfer's 'disgusting' Hollywood comments were 'misunderstood'
Outspoken actor ALEX PETTYFER has backtracked over blistering comments he made in a recent magazine article about life in Hollywood, insisting his words were "misunderstood".
The I Am Number Four star took aim at Tinseltown and its power people during a profanity-laden chat with VMAN magazine, in which he branded Los Angeles a "s**thole" and blasted the city as "socially disgusting".
But Pettyfer claims his comments were misinterpreted - because he has nothing but love for both the East and the West Coast.
He tells Eonline.com, "I love New York. I love L.A. too. I love both places... I don't think I was so much misquoted but misunderstood."
However, the actor has failed to elaborate, with his publicist simply insisting Pettyfer is "the most misunderstood boy in America".
