After winning the last series of Celebrity Masterchef in 2023, Wynne Evans has teased his brand new BBC series with none other than Gavin and Stacey star, Joanna Page. The pair will be embarking on an epic adventure along the Welsh coastline as they head to famous ports, secret coves, uncover seafood recipes and share all on their very busy lives.

Speaking about the exciting new show titled Wynne Evans and Joanna Page: Lost at Sea, the 52-year-old exclusively told Express.co.uk: "Joanna Page and I have been friends for quite a while, we did Pointless together, we did Celebrity Antiques Road Trip together.

"We start around the Welsh coast and see where we go from there and show real people and different things. I'll be taking my dog with me, I'm not a brilliant sailor so I don't know how that's going to work out. I'll probably get sea sick in the harbour."

The dad-of-two went on to express his fondness for Joanna, 47, having been friends with one another for quite a while now. He continued: "She's so lovely, she just doesn't care, nothing fazes her. She's got four kids, I was like, 'Can I be your fifth child?'

"We have a good laugh together and we start filming in about a month and we'll see what happens from there really. It's six parts to start with on iPlayer and BBC Wales."

Wynne is looking forward to showing a different side to himself after being known from the Go Compare adverts and is grateful for his television work as he gets to be himself instead of a character.

"People really know me from the insurance adverts, it's different for people and I think Masterchef helped with that, for people to get to know me," he expressed.

"As I was an opera singer and now I present for Radio Wales and I do some stuff on Radio 2, it's different for people to get to know you as a person."

Wynne has partnered with Hovis for a brand new campaign which reveals the nation's favourite sandwich to be the BLT after a dinner sandwich trend went viral on TikTok.

The BBC star has created his own Sushi sandwich which includes Hovis soft sliced white bread, seared salmon slices, wasabi avocado, red cabbage and pickled ginger coleslaw, black pepper and fresh lemon juice.

Speaking about his association with the campaign, Wynne explained: "There's been loads of people on TikTok trying to make these great sandwiches and of course on Masterchef, I made a sandwich to represent a Boxing Day meal to try and do something different.

"So I absolutely love Sushi right so I thought let's do a sushi sandwich. It's got the taste of sushi but the look of a sandwich, so it's like a proper meal in a sandwich."
