Kate Garraway begs for help in desperate plea after 'unsettling demand' in wake of loss
The Good Morning Britain presenter issued an urgent plea after she received an "unsettling demand" following her husband Derek Draper's death.
Kate Garraway expressed her frustration with Haringey Council and begged for their help.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, attempted to get through to their services but admittedly had no response and took to X, formerly Twitter.
The 56-year-old issued a desperate plea after she received "unsettling post making demands" from the council following the death of her husband Derek Draper.
The political lobbyist died in January aged 56 following a long battle with Covid-19.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Kate wrote: "@haringeycouncil -please help - have been trying for ten days sold to speak to someone about my husband passing away - following unsettling post making demands which obviously he can’t respond to.
"I just cannot get through. Again today nearly 50 mins wait & before I could, the man put me straight back to the beginning - another 20 mins and then it timed out as shuts at 5pm."
In a follow up tweet she wrote: "@haringeycouncil … the man put me straight back to the beginning - another 20 mins and then it timed out as shuts at 5pm. Is there a beareavement service or SOMETHING!!!!"
Kate did not clarify what the post was in relation to or what "demands" were being made.
Express.co.uk has contacted Haringey Council representatives for comment.
It comes after Kate opened up about her financial woes and admitted she has accumulated £800,000 in debt, for years of care provided for her late husband.

The GMB star admitted she's always in "survival mode" after revealing she owes between £500,000 and £800,000 debt.
She told The Times last month: "Derek's needs were clearly so great, yet he didn’t warrant funded care — so you think, 'If he isn’t getting it, then who is?'
"To be fair to them, no one’s contacted me since he’s passed away to ask for that. They may well still do, but they haven’t as yet.
"The bigger picture of the further appeals I haven’t addressed yet, because I’m still in survival mode. It’s supposed to be a system that’s meant to catch you if you fall. But actually, it feels like it’s trying to catch you out."
Derek's final moments were shown in a documentary alongside his children and his beloved wife Kate as he bravely fought the disease after four years.
