Dr Zoe Williams claimed that staff ‘"felt their jobs were in jeopardy" after the Phillip Schofield scandal.

It comes after the former This Morning presenter quit the programme and just days later admitted to having an affair with a younger male runner.

Speaking to Creative Brand Ambassador Rosie Nixon on HELLO!'s In A Good Place podcast this week, Dr Zoe said it was a tumultuous time for everyone who worked at ITV.

"I'm ok," she commented. "And it feels as though everything is back to business now. More than anything, I have felt for the staff. It is a huge team who works here."

Dr Zoe admitted she loves working at This Morning and regards members of the team as her friends.

She added: "There was a point where everybody felt that their jobs were in jeopardy. That was my main concern but it feels like everything has settled down now."

Express.co.uk has contacted ITV representatives at This Morning for comment.

Dr Zoe has been a resident expert on This Morning since 2016.

ITV’s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the presenter's exit will reportedly take months to complete.

The probe was commissioned after Phillip, 61, admitted in a tell-all statement to lying about having an affair with a much younger male colleague on This Morning.

In June, ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall faced questions from MPs about Phillip’s exit, the working culture on This Morning and other productions, as well as ITV’s use of non-disclosure agreements and its whistleblowing policy.

Phillip quit This Morning in May and just days later he was dropped by his talent agency of 35 years after admitting to lying to his team and colleagues about their relationship.

Since moving on from ITV, Phillip told The Sun that he lived in fear after leaving the public eye.

He revealed that he had “lost everything” after admitting to the affair, which resulted in a “catastrophic effect” on his mind.

The TV presenter shared: “I do not know when I will be able to walk out of the door. I don’t have any spirit."
