Now Big Yin’s a real comic star
BILLY Connolly has been transformed into a comic book character ahead of his latest role in a Pulp Fiction-style action thriller.
The Big Yin plays a one-man army called Il Duce in Boondock Saints ll: All Saints Day, a bloodletting black comedy follow-up to the 1999 cult hit.
Connolly, 66, was paid £60,000 to appear in the low-budget original, which was made for £3million but raked in more than £16million profit. His salary for the sequel is reported to be over £500,000.
And his character was such a hit with fans of the cult movie that the filmmakers decided to create a comic book to show more of contract killer Il Duce’s backstory.
Speaking about the role at the US’s Comic-Con convention, Connolly said: “I like careering around murdering people.
“I don’t think I would like to do it in my life but it’s a great chance to pretend.”
