Dan Walker: BBC Breakfast host announces surprise new job to Twitter followers
DAN WALKER has shared a GIF of himself with Breakfast co-host Louis Minchin as they covered Boris Johnson’s first day as Prime Minister.
With this week seeing the country bask in hot weather, both can be seen struggling a bit in the heat. Dan is waving a fan in front of his chest, while Louise is brushing her hair with her hand. The tweet was captioned: “I have a new job.”
It was accompanied with the sun and laughing-and-crying emojis.
Louise responded with her own snappy tweet: “Excellent fan work, thanks.
“Enjoy the sunshine everyone!”
Dan wore a navy jacket while Louis sported a white blazer.

Several commentators were concerned at the choice of attire, with one user writing: “Take your jackets off both. Sod the establishment, you both need to cool down!”
Another joked: “Not surprised with all them clothes. It's only a nice summers day. Stop being so soft lol.”
Dan was forced to explain the dress code to a user who warned: “Get the jacket off Dan, you’re going to melt!”
He explained: “Sweat-patches.”
This was then followed by the laughing-crying, fire and wet emojis.
He wrote: “Long-established TV rule.
“No-one likes to see a wet armpit.”
In between his tweet announcing the show and his GIF, Dan removed his red tie, however.
As Thursday hit a record high July temperature, Dan tweeted: “IT’S JUST TOO HOT.”
Dan joined BBC Breakfast in 2016.
Louise joined in 2006 initially as a relief present while Kate Silverton covered for Sian Williams.
BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One at 6am.
