Kings Of Leon sorry for festival cancellation
Rockers KINGS OF LEON have apologised to fans for axing their slot at Benicassim Festival in Spain after the event was hit by heavy thunderstorms.
The group, along with Maximo Park, were due to play the outdoor event on Friday (17Jul09) but their sets were scrapped at the last minute when the town was hit with severe weather conditions.
Organisers had hoped to appease angry fans by rescheduling the Kings Of Leon's headlining act for Saturday (18Jul09).
But the group was unable to perform, as its stage equipment had already been shipped to Switzerland for a set at the Gurtenfestival on Sunday (19Jul09).
Drummer Nathan Followill writes on his Twitter.com page, "I'm sad to say that we aren't playing Benicassim. We are so sorry and bummed about last night. Our gear is already headed to Switzerland."
