Second man arrested after Gogglebox star George Gilbey's death is bailed
A second man who was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the death of Gogglebox star George Gilbey has been released on bail
A second man who was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the death of Gogglebox's George Gilbey has been released on bail.
Essex Police said the 36-year-old suspect, from Witham, who was arrested on Wednesday, has been released on bail.
The force previously arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, who was subsequently released under investigation.
The 40-year-old sustained traumatic injuries to his head and torso and died in Shoeburyness on March 27, reports the Mirror.
An inquest hearing was held in Chelmsford last month, where it was heard Gilbey fell through a skylight while working on a roof. A post-mortem examination found his injuries were "consistent with a fall from height."
Senior coroner Lincoln Brookes adjourned proceedings for a total of four months at the request of Essex Police. "[Gilbey] was working on a roof when he fell through a plastic skylight and landed on the ground below," revealed Deborah Frost, a coroner's officer, during the hearing.
Essex Police had confirmed a man's death in Shoebury at the time of his passing, sharing a statement with the public.

Mr Gilbey gained fame for his appearances on the Channel 4 series Gogglebox, where participants provide commentary on TV shows from the previous week.
He shared the screen with his mother Linda McGarry and stepfather Pete McGarry, who passed away aged 71 in 2021.
The reality star also made it to the final of the 14th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014.
Linda, the Gogglebox star's mother, recently opened up about her last conversation with her son. In an interview last week, she recalled that he called her on the morning of his accident.
She remembered: "He phoned me at 9.30 in the morning and said he was working - and asked me for his 'breakfast money'. I put £30 in his account so he could get food, and he seemed fine."
"He had a drink the night before, and liked a bottle of white wine or two, but was happy that he was working.
"He ended the phone call by saying, 'I love you' like he usually did. I treasure those words."
